Facial Radiance

Facial radiance is a special massage technique used to release tension. It lifts the face, opens the eyes, helps define the jaw and cheek bones & soften fine lines. It gives the client a relaxed and more radiant look. The deep relaxation that the technique promotes is working on the meridians of the face & scalp. Meridians are energy channels that run on the surface of the extremities & course deeply through the body, hence the deep internal relaxation. Even though you are working on the head & face, your whole body will benefit from this special massage.

Facial Radiance Energy can become blocked due to pent up emotion, mental strain or stress from any sort of physical injury. When energy becomes blocked, the body’s natural capacity to heal itself is impaired.

Facial Radiance can unblock those energy meridians. Any method which re-establishes the natural flow of energy in the body is a form of healing. Facial Radiance massage can help relieve headaches, sinus & eye tension. Your skin will look more even in colour as well as softer to the touch. This massage is gentle but gets right into the deeper layers (where creams can’t get) of the skin.

The structure of the skin is in 3 layers. The outermost layer is the epidermis. The middle layers and the deepest of the skins 3 layers are connective tissue. Connective tissue is comprised of living cells, collagen and elastic fibers. In the middle layer is where there are many small blood vessels. They carry nourishment to the skin cells in the outmost layer. Tension in the middle layer can press these fine blood vessels and thus preventing the nourishment & oxygen to reach up to the outer layer. These skin cells become starved. The skin dries out and loses its vital appearance. Facial Radiance massage unlocks the tension in the tissue. It rejuvenates the skin. The tissues look more plumped up and the colour looks so much more alive.
